The Worshiping Church

"Reverent corporate worship, then, is not optional for the church of God. It is not a form of group behaiviour to be accepted just because of it's long tradition or its acceptability among many cultures. Rather, it brings to expression the very being of the church. It manifests on earth the reality of the heavenly assembly. The glory of God is that to which and to which the church is called."
Edmund P. Clowney, The Biblical Theology of the Church, The Church in the Bible and the World, ed. Don Carson.
